Tá múinteoirí agus páistí na Gaelscoile chomh maith leis an bhfoireann ar fad ag obair go dian chun ár gcéad Brat Glas do bhruscar agus athchúrsáil a fháil don Ghaelscoil. Táimíd an-bhródúil as an méid atá déanta ag an scoil ar fad go dtí seo, ach go háirithe leis an measúnú oifigiúil ar an Luan. (This year the teachers and children of Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin along with the whole school staff have come together in force in order to gain our first Green Flag for the school – Litter and Waste. We’re very proud of what we have achieved to date, especially with how well our first official assessment went on Monday last).

Mar shampla:

• we have reduced the quantity of paper being photocopied by 30%.
• we have begun composting within a number of the classes in the school.
• we have sorted the waste into three categories.
• Children have become much more litter aware.

Beidh ‘Lá Gníomhach’ againn ar an Déardaoin 12/2/15.  Beimid ag glanadh suas mórthimpeall na scoile agus ag cur taispeántas Ealaíne ar siúl sa halla ar an lá sin. Chomh maith leis sin, beidh cead ag na páistí éadaí glasa a chaitheamh ar an lá sin. Beidh seans ag tuismitheoirí ár ealaíne álainn a fheiscint sa halla mar chuid den Ghairdín Órgánach. (Our Green School Action Day will take place on Thursday 12/2/15. Each class will be doing a big clean up in and around the school as well as putting on an art exhibition in the hall. Children are invited to wear green clothes to school onThursday 12/2/15. Parents will get the opportunity to see our beautiful artwork in the hall on the night of the Organic Garden launch).
